Join the Houston space community to celebrate the launch of Space Happy Hour's newest chapter, featuring acclaimed author and senior space editor Eric Berger

HOUSTON, October 28, 2024 — Space Happy Hour is excited to announce the launch of its Houston chapter with a special launch party on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024 at the Starship Gallery at Space Center Houston. This event will feature Eric Berger, senior space editor at Ars Technica and author of Reentry: SpaceX, Elon Musk, and the Reusable Rockets that Launched a Second Space Age and Liftoff: Elon Musk and the Desperate Early Days That Launched SpaceX.

The launch will be hosted in the Starship Gallery, offering attendees the opportunity to connect, network, and share their passion for space exploration in front of the iconic Apollo 17 Command Module, as well as the Gemini V and Mercury 9 capsules. Guests will also have the chance to participate in an exclusive book signing with author Eric Berger for his latest work, Reentry, and engage in conversations about the current landscape of the space industry.

“The launch of our Houston chapter is an important milestone for Space Happy Hour, as it’s the 7th major US space industrial hub that we’ve launched in,” said Craig Baerwaldt, founder of Space Happy Hour. “Houston has a rich history in space exploration, making it an ideal location to continue our mission of connecting space industry professionals from around the globe. We’re also excited about the recent launches in the Space Coast and San Francisco Bay Area, along with upcoming launches in Tokyo, Toronto and New York, planned for Q1 2025 as we continue to expand our global community.”

“As a Houston resident, I’m honored to be part of this launch event with Space Happy Hour, bringing together and connecting our vibrant local space community,” said Eric Berger, reporter at Ars Technica and author of Liftoff and Reentry. “I’ll be signing books and doing photo-ops in front of the Apollo 17 capsule, and I can't wait to engage in awesome conversations about the space industry and share insights from my book, Reentry.”
